Privacy & Data Policy
Cherrypick is built around your private collection of clips. Here's exactly what that means for your data.
Last updated: June 2026
The short version
- Your clips, notes, screenshots and tags belong to you.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't show you ads.
- We only collect what's needed to make the extension work.
What Cherrypick stores
When you save a clip, Cherrypick stores the content you choose to capture, which may include:
- Highlighted text and the page title and URL it came from
- Screenshots you capture
- Notes and comments you write
- The tags and categories you assign
Cherrypick only saves a clip when you explicitly ask it to. It does not record your general browsing history or read pages in the background.
Where your data lives
Your clips are stored in your browser's local extension storage on your device. If cross-device sync is enabled, your data is synced through your browser's built-in sync so it's available on your other signed-in browsers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data.
- We don't share your clips with third parties.
- We don't track you across the web or build advertising profiles.
Permissions
Cherrypick requests only the browser permissions required to capture and save clips from the page you're actively viewing, and to store them. Each permission exists to deliver a feature described on the About page.
Your control
You can edit or delete any clip at any time. Removing the extension removes its locally stored data from that device. To request anything else, just reach out.
